JEONGSEON, South Korea, July 24 (Korea Bizwire) –A walking festival will open later this week on an Olympic trail in the South Korean mountain county of Jeongseon to wish for the success of the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics, an official said Monday.
The 131.7-kilometer Olympic Aribau Trail links the Olympic cities of PyeongChang, Gangneung and Jeonseon, and is made up of nine trails.
“The Aribau Walking Festival will be held on ‘Kkotbyyeorujae (the Azalea Cliff)’ trail, one of the nine trails, on Saturday, with a 12-kilometer walk from Najeon Station to Auraji Station in Jeongseon,” the official said.
Everyone can participate in the event, the official said, adding that shuttle buses will also operate between the stations.
“We’ve prepared the event to successfully hold and create a mood for the 2018 Olympics,” the official said.
