SEOUL, Nov. 7 (Korea Bizwire) – The BMW i8, a plug-in hybrid sports car, will make its official debut in South Korea early next year, which will be the first plug-in hybrid model running on the Korean roads.
With its futuristic exterior design, the i8 boasts powerful performances: a total of 362 horsepower and 58.2 kilogram-meter of torque. Its front wheels are driven by an electric motor while the rear wheels are served by a turbocharged 1.5-liter 3-cylinder engine.
Splashy for its attention-grabbing design, but it has enough qualities to brag about the “green” features: The i8 has a fuel efficiency of 47.6 kilometers per liter with carbon emissions of 49 grams per kilometer. And its zero-to-100 kilometer per hour acceleration takes only 4.4 seconds. So it is not a hyperbole to call it a truly unique hybrid sports car.
