SEOUL, Sept. 5 (Korea Bizwire) — Luxury hotels in Seoul are seeing a soaring number of wedding reservations, primarily led by so-called “revenge spending” among brides who have struggled long enough under various restrictions imposed by the pandemic.
Industry sources said that wedding reservations at luxury hotels like the Lotte Hotel Seoul, the Shilla Seoul, Four Seasons Hotel Seoul and Grand WalkerHill Seoul have been fully booked until early next year.
With the end of social distancing measures, the number of reservations for large weddings that accommodate 200 to 300 guests has increased.
Reservations for the once popular “small weddings,” in contrast, have slowed down.
Weddings at luxury hotels typically cost between 40-90 million won (US$29,250-65,820) for 300 guests or more.
