GUNSAN, Feb. 2 (Korea Bizwire) — The wall surrounding an elementary school in Gunsan, North Jeolla Province, has been painted with images of members of the K-pop supergroup BTS.
Lee Jong-bae, a graffiti artist from the city, painted the faces of each BTS member on the wall, which can be recognized from afar.
Since 2021, he has been connecting with local hair salons or restaurants to paint the faces of the seven members throughout the city. It was his 15th artwork to be painted on the wall surrounding the elementary school.
The project began to show his support for BTS, who have been telling the world about South Korea. Now, the project has become a go-to place for the group’s global fandom ARMY.
“BTS once shot a music video in Gunsan. I believe that’s how my paintings got connected and became so popular,” Lee said.
