SEOUL, Korea, Sep 13 (Korea Bizwire) – King, the cross-platform casual game developer famous for the wildly popular game “Candy Crush Saga,” said on September 13 that it has launched a KakaoTalk version of the game “Candy Crush Saga for Kakao.” This is a meaningful move for King as KakaoTalk has more than 110 million users worldwide. Given the game has gained prominence all across platforms including Android and iOS, with more than 15 million users logging in every day, the joining of forces between the two companies will create huge synergies.
Tommy Palm, “game guru” of the Stockholm-based company, said, “In order to mesmerize Korean game players who are used to social games, we have incorporated special features in the Kakao version. Users can make game play requests to their friends or send cute emoticons.”
Ban Seung-hwan, Kakao’s game business division head, said, “I am excited to see the world’s most popular game developer joining hands with us. The game has been loved by millions of people all across the world and there is no reason to believe that it won’t work in Korea.”
