SEOUL, May 21 (Korea Bizwire) A delivery worker employed by South Korean e-commerce giant Coupang Inc. has claimed that he was penalized for releasing videos of a poor working environment to the public.

Cheon Min-ho, who has been working for the company for almost a year, appeared on an MBC radio talk show on Thursday to make such claims.

Earlier, Cheon posted videos of Coupang’s unfair assessments of its delivery workers, conversations on the company’s mobile messenger for business, and poor quality in terms of managing deliveries on YouTube.

“I had been working for three months at Coupang when my colleagues began to quit. I felt something was wrong,” Cheon said.

Cheon claimed that the company has withheld the exact data used to calculate incentive bonuses for deliveries. According to him, the delivery workers would never find out the reason for a wage freeze or even cuts despite surges in the delivery load.

Cheon was placed on a two-month unattached list for illegal videotaping and violating security restrictions, before the punishment was replaced by a seven-day suspension.

Cheon claims that more than 10,000 delivery workers left Coupang in 2020.

This article is totally false.. coupon has some of the best working conditions sharing stock options with workers health insurance paid vacation and top pay.. in my experience one of the best companies I’ve ever worked for.. and I worked for the all . Coupang continues to grow it’s market share and revenue year over year over year.. coupang also is one of the biggest if not the biggest employees in South Korea employing over 50,000 workers.. there’s always bound to be a handful of unhappy employees for whatever reason but compared to the number of workers that are happy to those that are not happy does not even compare to other smaller industries.. coupang is not only one of the best e-commerce companies in South Korea according to its customers but it is also one of the best companies in Korea to be employed by…
