SEOUL, June 14 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korean convenience store chain CU has announced the launch of a campaign against child abuse and disappearance in Mongolia.

BGF Retail Co., the operator of CU, said that the convenience store chain is rolling out the ‘I Care for You’ campaign in Mongolia.

The campaign encourages the public to bring vulnerable children to a nearby CU store, where they will be kept under protection until they are delivered to the police. The campaign began in 2017 in South Korea.

If a missing child either visits a CU outlet or is found by CU staff, the store will report the case to the police, and keep the child under protection until they are taken away by the police or the child’s guardian.

There are currently 110 CU stores in the Mongolian capital city of Ulaanbaatar, which is three times more than the total number of police stations (30) in the city.
