PYEONGCHANG, Jan. 7 (Korea Bizwire) — The 28th Daegwallyeong Snow Festival will be held from January 10 to 19 at Pyeongchang, the host county of the 2018 Winter Olympic Games.
The organizing committee announced on Monday that this year’s festivities will go beyond exhibiting ice sculptures to add various programs where participants can enjoy the snow themselves.
Participants will be invited to climb an artificial mountain made of snow, and tread along pathways that resemble the old Daegwallyeong path.
A pathway that goes through the local birch tree forest, a snow tunnel, and an artificial waterfall made of ice have been added as a new collection of sightseeing at the festival.
Children can have fun at the 70-meter-long, 30-meter-wide snow sledge field offering curved courses for extra fun.
