SEOUL, March 7 (Korea Bizwire) Delivery Nation, the top-ranked delivery app  in Korea, has begun to develop artificial intelligence (AI) for food menu recommendations.

Woowa Brothers Corp., which operates Delivery Nation, announced that it will launch the industry’s first artificial intelligence project, dubbed ‘BaeMin-David’, and start developing related technologies such as an interactive robot (chatbot).

The company has thus far committed 10 billion won to its new venture.

Delivery Nation plans to make the new AI familiar with tens of thousands of Korean expressions related to delivery food orders, such as food, taste, quantity, , and order situations through an artificial intelligence research project. The project is is intended to make it easier for users to order via chatbot and voice recognition, which are specific to delivery apps.

“It will not be easy to make AI understand Korean expressions, so we will concentrate on developing related technologies first,” a Delivery Nation representative said.

“If the AI can understand expressions such as ‘I have a terrible hangover, what do you recommend?’ customers will be able to enjoy food delivery service more comfortably and happily,” added the representative.
