Dutch Embassy in Seoul Sends Tulips to Medical Staff

SEOUL, April 8 (Korea Bizwire)A foreign embassy sent flowers of encouragement to medical staff continuously fighting on the frontlines against the coronavirus.

The Embassy of the Netherlands in Seoul sent 1,000 tulips to medical staff at the Seoul Medical Center to express their gratitude and encouragement. Tulips is famously known as the national symbol of the Netherlands.

The embassy is currently holding a ‘flower of hope’ campaign to help flower farmers struggling from plunging sales due to the coronavirus and send out the message of overcoming the crisis altogether as one nation.

“The Netherlands and South Korea have been engaging in amicable relations for 59 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1961,” said Joanne Doornewaard, the Dutch Ambassador to South Korea.
