SEOUL, Oct. 27 (Korea Bizwire) — Padded and non-padded coat sales are on the rise as more consumers are preparing for the early coming of winter.
Shinsegae International Inc., the apparel arm of retail giant Shinsegae, said Wednesday that its fashion brands VOV, STUDIO TOMBOY, ILAIL, Della Lana and G-CUT’s sales between Oct. 1-23 jumped by 41 percent from last year.
VOV saw a sales boost of down jackets and goose down coats for the winter while STUDIO TOMBOY also saw sales of light down coats and jackets increase. Ilail’s sales boost was led by handmade jackets and knitted coats.
Sales of padded coats designed for golfers and hikers are also on the rise due to the increasing number of consumers interested in participating in outdoor activities in the winter.
Wemakeprice Inc., a South Korean social commerce platform, saw sales of outfits for hiking and golfing jump by 103 percent and 72 percent, respectively, between Oct. 1-14.
Sales of padded coats for golfing and hiking were up a massive 961 percent and 276 percent, respectively.
