SEOUL, June 10 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korean cosmetics company Amorepacific Corp. announced Tuesday that it will launch an upcycled bench in tandem with TerraCycle, a global recycling company, to celebrate World Environment Day.
The upcycled bench was created using the Terrazzo method that combines empty cosmetics containers returned to Amorepacific by consumers with ultra-high performance concrete, complete with additional bins decorating the bench’s back.
The bench used some 1,400 cosmetics containers, emphasizing the importance of creative upcycling and environmental protection.
Radio-B, an eco-friendly design studio, came up with an interesting idea for the bench to encourage social distancing by affixing a 50-centimeter-wide flower pot to the middle of the bench, and leaving a 1-meter distance mark where people are supposed to sit.
