SEOUL, Mar. 6 (Korea Bizwire) – South Korean food companies are beginning to compete to introduce new products that use strawberries with spring finally on the horizon.
Starting on Tuesday, Starbucks Coffee Korea Co. will be selling three new kinds of drinks that contain strawberries for the next two weeks.
The coffee giant’s ‘Spring Strawberry Latte’, ‘Strawberry Youthberry Tea’, and ‘Strawberry Pine Juice’ are the three new drinks that are made from strawberries grown in Nonsan, South Chungcheong Province and Sancheon, South Gyeongsang Province.
Gong Cha Korea already released new strawberry products in January, and recently announced that it had sold more than 1 million drinks in just 40 days.
In celebration its success performance, Gong Cha Korea is giving out free chocolate milk tea sticks to all customers who purchase a strawberry drink.
Cafe Droptop, local coffee shop brand, also introduced eight new strawberry drinks.
“To meet the increasing demand for strawberry drinks, we have also come up with new strawberry desserts,” Cafe Droptop said.
Experts believe that competition among food companies will accelerate as they scramble to meet demand arising from increasing outdoor activities in spring.
