HANOI, Mar. 16 (Korea Bizwire) — In Vietnam, pre-orders are soaring for a book detailing the remarkable story of the Vietnamese national football team and its South Korean coach, Park Hang-seo.

More than 6,000 pre-orders have been placed for the book titled ‘Typhoon Fire U23 – Cangzhou’s White Snow’, which centers around the groundbreaking performance of the Vietnamese national football team at the Asian Football Confederation U-23 Championship in China in January, the local media outlet Zing reported.

The team had unprecedented success, finishing second for the first time in the Vietnamese football history, and the book offers behind the scene insights and a full account of the team’s journey from the difficulties they faced to the exciting achievements that wowed the entire nation.

Packed with pictures of the team including the welcome home parade, the book goes one step further and offers in-depth analysis of the impact of the team’s success story on the education sector and the economy in general.

A team of experts put their heads together to produce the book, including sports journalists, photographers, writers, and researchers, as well as Park’s translator, Le Huy Khoa.

A total of 5,000 copies of the first edition were originally set to be printed, according to the publisher, well above the average figure of 2,000 copies in the Vietnamese publishing industry.

Growing demand, however, has prompted the government to print an additional 10,000 copies even before the book’s release.

Park, who served as an assistant coach for the South Korean team under Dutch coach Guus Hiddink during the 2002 FIFA World Cup, led Vietnam’s U-23 team to its highest position to date just months after he was named head coach of the Vietnamese national football team national under-23 football team.

South Korean President Moon Jae-in is expected to meet Park during his planned trip to Vietnam later this month, according to sources.
