SEOUL, Aug.11 (Korea Bizwire) — A total of 17 training camp cuts and newly retired sniffer dogs (drug detection dogs) were recently put up for adoption, with 12 finding new homes.

Starting on June 28, the Korea Customs Service received applications over a period of six days. When processing the requests, the agency took into consideration the stated purpose of adoption and the type of home that would be provided to the dogs.
Customs agents visited applicants’ homes and conducted interviews before final approvals were issued.
A lucky few will be spending their retirement with familiar faces they have known since the beginning of their careers. Among the approved applicants are customs agents that the dogs have patrolled Incheon International Airport with since 2011.
