SEOUL, Feb. 2 (Korea Bizwire) — The U.S. state of Georgia has proclaimed Jan. 31 as Kia Day.
Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp on Tuesday (local time) approved the state council resolution for the establishment of Kia Day.
The event was attended by Yoon Seung-kyu, president at Kia North America region and Kia U.S.
The resolution emphasized that the carmaker was responsible for setting up a plant in West Point in 2009, investing US$1.9 billion and creating some 3,000 jobs.
Kia’s all-electric EV6, which will be produced at the Georgia plant, was put up for exhibition in front of the state Capitol building that day.
