SEOUL, Oct. 22 (Korea Bizwire) — Freshmen from the Institute of Korean Studies at the Free University of Berlin wore their first hanbok last week.
Some 70 new students took part in a two-week orientation session before courses began, learning about Korean alphabet Hangul, Korean pronunciation and basic knowledge about Korea.
The final phase of the orientation was trying out hanbok.
Sophomore students from the same department, who did not have a chance to try on traditional Korean attire last year due to COVID-19, helped the freshmen after learning how to properly tie the hanbok’s linen on YouTube.
The hanbok, donated by various groups and individuals, demonstrated a beautiful range of colors and designs.
