SEOUL, Mar. 8 (Korea Bizwire)The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries announced on Thursday that it would lower the bar for foreign workers to receive work visas to help keep skilled foreign labor in South Korea.

The ministry has expanded the number of companies that issue job offers through changes in the system.

The new companies include those involved in environment-friendly energy supply projects, those that did not violate fisheries laws and regulations for three years, and those that received compensation from the central administrative agency.

Furthermore, the ministry has allocated 50 additional officials in the fisheries industry to issue E-74 visas to secure foreign manpower.

Those interested in acquiring a long-term stay visa must fill out the necessary documents on the ministry’s website, www.mof.go.kr.
