Hajungdo Island Offers an Oasis of Flowers in Daegu

DAEGU, Aug. 24 (Korea Bizwire)In two days, visitors will be walking among 98,500 square meters worth of cosmos flowers on Hajungdo Island, situated off the shore of Daegu in the Geumho River.

The island and its flowers will be open to visitors until September 24. Organizers note that the flowers are expected to be in full bloom in early September. 

Larger than 14 soccer fields put together, the grounds will boast a wilderness of cosmos and the especially popular yellow cosmos.

In preparation for the influx of visitors, total parking spaces have been increased by 350, while 24-hour security staff will be on-site and an extra 20 parking lot staff will be present on the weekends.

For visitors planning to drive, signs and banners will be placed roadside to guide them to the grounds.

With pathways by the Geumho River, photo zones set with scenic views and decorated pathways, there will be no shortage of opportunities for picture-taking amidst the flora.
