SEOUL, Jan. 7 (Korea Bizwire) — Sales of home-study aids are gaining popularity online.
With a spike in the number of students finding new resolve in the new year to study, coupled with the coronavirus pandemic, appliance sales are rising as students are spending more time at home.
Online shopping mall Wemakeprice Inc. reported a 648 percent sales increase of cubicle tables that help students focus on studying by blocking view of their surroundings.
Sales of partitions used to separate tables jumped by 173 percent. Sales of white noise machines that play recordings of the wind, rain, and other sounds helpful for studying jumped by 243 percent.
The recent sales boost is seen as the result of heightened demand for artificial white noise to overcome the stress caused by having to stay indoors for an extended period of time.
Sales of earphones with noise cancelling features jumped by 212 percent, while sales of oxygen generators commonly used in study rooms to help with students’ concentration rose by 139 percent.
