SEOUL, Korea, Oct 21 (Korea Bizwire) – Late last year LG Electronics Netherlands released a YouTube commercial “So Real It’s Scary” about its IPS monitor and succeeded in logging in 16 million clicks. The video showed scenes in which LG technicians installed displays on the bottom of an elevator and passengers afterward were panicked to see the bottom fall off. This is considered one of the most successful cases of emotional marketing.

Just like this, there are many companies paying attention to emotional market of late. Moving way beyond delivering information on products, this is an attempt by advertisers to gain the sympathy of customers by providing direct experience of some other customers. Marketers said, “New products that have just debuted need a lot of innovative marketing strategies. One of the most effective marketing tool in this regard is emotional marketing as it can appeal very well to customers in the sense that it arouses their curiosity and desire to try the product.”

To capitalize on the trend, online ad agency Now Call will hold a special lecture series “How to use online viral marketing tools to increase your sales” for four days between October 22 and 25 at the International Talent Education Center in Seoul’s Gangnam.

On the first day on the 22nd, a class on “Strategy making through marketing mix” will be held. It will be followed in the next day by “How to raise sales through internal marketing” and explain about how to improve sales strategy by changing the company website’s user interface and using the bulletin board more effectively. On the third day, the lecture will focus on marketing strategies including viral, blog, cafe, and Answer.com spaces. The final day will be closed with a class on how to maximize marketing effectiveness through product and media mix.

Jang Ji-hoon, senior manager with Now Call, said, “The main reason so many small businesses are struggling is their lack of knowledge and experience in online and viral marketing. If they can create and implement the marketing strategies custom-tailored to their needs, they can boost sales revenue without much difficulty.”
