SEOUL, June 6 (Korea Bizwire) — Hyundai Engineering Co., a plant engineering affiliate of Hyundai Motor Group, has announced the development of a Smart Parking Address Tool (SPAT), an automatic parking navigation service that detects the location of a driver’s car within an apartment complex and notifies the driver.
The company combined Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co.’s Hi-oT smart home system and IoT technology from South Korean robot developer Luxrobo to create the automatic parking navigation module.
The SPAT works by connecting a smart parking sensor to a car, which then communicates with nearby CCTV cameras and lighting systems to exchange parking signals.
Since the recognition module is installed inside the car, it is immune to outside changes, allowing for more accurate tracking of the car’s parked location, the company explained.
