SEOUL, Sept. 12 (Korea Bizwire) – Local industry leader Hyundai Motor Co. and two other carmakers will recall over 30,000 cars sold here for problems with various vehicle parts, the transportation ministry said Monday.
According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Hyundai Motor will recall 10,912 units of the Grandeur passenger cars for an issue related to the car’s power seats.
Due to possible erosion of the parts inside the power seat adjusters, the seats may fail to work properly, moving when not desired while the car is moving, the ministry said.
The subject vehicles were produced between March 7 and Aug. 14 of 2007, and free repair services will be available from Sept. 22.
The automaker is also recalling 617 units of the Hyundai Tucson compact SUVs produced between Dec. 17, 2015 and May 31, 2016 for a software issue in the transmission module that may cause a delay or failure in acceleration following a stop.
Ssangyong Motor Co., the local unit of Indian automaker Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., is recalling certain models of the Tivoli crossover SUV for a possible fuel leak due to a defective fuel hose that may cause the vehicle to stop and even catch fire.

The recall affects 14,831 Tivoli diesel models produced between July 1, 2015 and Jan. 31, 2016. The carmaker began providing free repair services at all its service centers earlier in the day.

The ministry said problems in the car’s engine control unit may halt fuel injection into the engine, possibly causing the engine and brakes to lose power and leading to accidents.
The recall affects 6,844 units of the natural gas-powered sedan produced between Dec. 28, 2015 and Sept. 6, 2016. Renault Samsung will begin free repair service from next Monday.
