INCHEON, Jan. 8 (Korea Bizwie) — Incheon Airport will provide emergency medical services during the 2018 PyeongChang Olympic & Paralympic Winter Games.
According to the Incheon city government, medical staff from four local general hospitals including Gachon University Gil Hospital, Inha University Hospital, International St. Mary’s Hospital and Gumdan Top General Hospital will be dispatched to the airport to help treat athletes and IOC officials in emergencies.
In addition, emergency rooms at the four hospitals in Incheon will ramp up efforts to treat international patients during the Winter Olympic season.
Last week, Incheon and the four local hospitals signed an agreement with the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics organizing committee to provide medical support.
The agreement ceremony took place in the presence of some 50 senior officials from both the hospitals and the organizing committee.
“For the PyeongChang Winter Olympics to be held successfully, Incheon will cooperate with the four hospitals to support medical services at Incheon Airport, which is the gate to South Korea,” an Incheon government official said.
