INCHEON, Dec. 8 (Korea Bizwire) — An outdoor music concert series held by local authorities is consoling local residents struggling with the coronavirus pandemic as well as offering a chance for musicians to perform.
Incheon’s Yeonsu District held a series of 17 ‘balcony music concerts’ between April and November at parking lots or public spaces in apartment complexes that have suffered from confirmed COVID-19 cases.
The concerts were designed to allow spectators to watch the performance comfortably and safely from their homes.
Some 30 members of the district’s traditional arts troupe and female choir took to the stage for each performance.
Audiences watching the performance behind safety lines and from balconies have become a new landscape in the coronavirus era.
Following performances last month, the balcony concert series is resting for the winter. The district aims to continue the concert series next year to bring various arts and performances to local residents.
