SEOUL, Oct. 6 (Korea Bizwire) — The blockbuster success of K-Pop Demon Hunters on Netflix is drawing international fans to one of Seoul’s most iconic landmarks — the YTN Seoul Tower on Namsan Mountain.
YTN said Sunday that 79,200 foreign tourists visited the tower’s observation deck in September, marking a 50.6 percent increase from 52,600 during the same month last year. The figure also represents the highest monthly foreign visitor count since 2024.
The broadcaster attributed the surge to the popularity of K-Pop Demon Hunters, which prominently features the tower as a key setting in its climactic scenes. The animated film follows a fictional K-pop group, Huntrix, as they battle demonic forces to save the world.
In the story’s finale, YTN Seoul Tower serves as the stage for the boy band Saja Boys’ last concert and the site of Huntrix’s confrontation with the demon overlord Gwi-ma.
Online fan communities have since buzzed with posts from international viewers expressing their desire to visit the real-life location.
Released globally on June 20, K-Pop Demon Hunters has become Netflix’s most-watched title to date, topping streaming charts worldwide.
“The YTN Seoul Tower’s appearance in the film’s finale has captured global attention,” the broadcaster said in a statement, adding that it plans to expand programs and content offerings to enhance visitors’ experience.
