SEOUL, Aug. 5 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korea’s top mobile messenger operator Kakao Corp. has been named as the most desirable company to work for by college students for the second straight year.
Job search portal JobKorea conducted a survey of 1,106 college students, 15.3 percent of whom picked Kakao as the company that they wanted to work at the most.
Following Kakao was Samsung Electronics Co. at 9.5 percent, up two spots from its fourth place showing last year. Naver Corp. ranked third at 6.5 percent, down one step from second place last year.
“Internet companies show strength every year as the most desirable workplaces. The preference for gaming companies was relatively high this year due to the impact of competition to attract IT development talent,” JobKorea said.
As for the reasons behind their choices, 22.6 percent said that they could do the work they want, followed by welfare system and work environment (22.2 percent), long term employment (20.8 percent) and high salary (18.5 percent).
