SEOUL, March 7 (Korea Bizwire) — Kia Corp.’s electric compact sport utility vehicle (SUV) EV3 has been named the U.K. Car of the Year 2025, the company said Friday.
The Kia EV3 topped the Small Crossover category of the annual award and took the overall top honor, outperforming strong contenders across six other segments, according to Kia.
Hyundai Motor Co.’s Santa Fe in the Large Crossover section, BMW’s Mini Countryman in Medium Crossover and the Hyundai IONIQ 5 N in Performance Car were the EV3′s competitors.
The award organizer said the model’s specification, driving range and styling have impressed its judges.
This victory follows Kia’s 2024 win with the EV9.
The Kia EV3 was unveiled last year, joining Kia’s expanding EV lineup, which includes the EV6 and EV9.
“These consecutive awards clearly demonstrate Kia’s strong leadership in electrification, the genuine demand from UK customers and the quality of our product line up,” said an official from Kia’s British unit.
“With this outstanding recognition and our increasing order bank, we and our dealer partners are confident EV3 will continue being a popular and accessible choice for the growing number of people switching to electric.”
The U.K. Car of the Year Awards are an independent set of awards voted for by 31 experienced professionals from across Britain.
