SEOUL, Aug. 5 (Korea Bizwire) — Korean Air Co., South Korea’s leading air carrier, said Tuesday it will begin offering its newly introduced premium class seats on retrofitted Boeing 777-300ER aircraft in mid-September.
Positioned between business and economy seats, the new premium class seats offer enhanced seating and in-flight services, with fares priced at around 110 percent of regular economy seats.
Premium class seats provide approximately 50 percent more space than standard economy seats. They recline up to 130 degrees and are equipped with both leg and footrests, ergonomic headrests and privacy-enhancing features.
The new seats also include upgraded in-flight entertainment, featuring 15.6-inch 4K monitors, which are larger than those currently installed on business seats on the same aircraft.
The move comes as the airline completes a 300 billion-won (US$217 million) project to refurbish the cabins of 11 Boeing 777-300ER jets, updating them with the latest interiors and onboard services.
“We are committed to bringing the fully redesigned Boeing 777-300ER and new premium class to as many customers as possible,” a Korean Air official said. “Despite delays caused by the pandemic, we are proud to offer a renewed in-flight experience that reflects the evolving needs of our passengers.”
