SEOUL, April 6 (Korea Bizwire)The Maison de la Corée at the International University Campus in Paris is turning into a promotional venue for South Korea.

The dormitory is the latest building to be built on the campus. At the South Korea-France Summit in 2011, France made the first offer to improve housing conditions for South Korean students studying in the country.

The Korean dormitory can accommodate up to 250 students. Currently, there are 175 Koreans and 75 foreign nationals living in the pavilion.

Students are highly satisfied with their stay in Maison de la Corée.

“It is twice as costly to live out in the city,” a German study-abroad student said. “I feel very lucky to be living in Maison de la Corée.”

The dormitory is staffed with security guards who work on a 24-hour system. The rules at the dormitory are more lenient than in South Korea, making it an exceptionally competitive place to live among South Korean students.

Maison de la Corée also works as a place for promoting South Korea to foreign students.

“Foreign students admire Maison de la Corée. They would come to see every time there is an event taking place at the dormitory,” said Yoon Kang-woo, the director of the Education Section of the South Korean Embassy in Paris and Maison de la Corée.
