SEOUL, Nov.9 (Korea Bizwire) – As convenient store meal boxes are high in demand, employees and franchise owners of Seven Eleven got together in competition to develop a new meal box menu.
A total of 54 teams consisting of Seven Eleven franchise owners, employees and their families competed last month, and 10 teams moved on to the finals after being evaluated.
At the finals, each team was given an hour to cook the food that they submitted for the meal box. Seven experts and Seven Eleven executives evaluated each dish. Marketability, creativity, practicality, nutrition and visual appeal were the criteria for evaluation.
The winner was the representative team from the Honam area, which presented a dish called ‘chicken breast curry stir fried rice’. ‘Egg omelet in love’, prepared by a team from Busan came in second, and ‘Warm Hokkaido cream stew’ by employees Park Gun-wook and Choi Dong-ho won third place.
Officials at Seven Eleven expressed their determination to develop creative products that suit consumers, leading the convenience store meal box culture.
