SEOUL, Nov. 5 (Korea Bizwire) — KT Corp., a major South Korean mobile carrier, on Tuesday showcased the world’s first artificial intelligence IPTV that supports advanced 8K resolution.
The Korean company’s new Genie TV set-top box will support 8K resolution, the highest resolution standard for content creation, to upgrade the viewing experience for its users, according to its officials.
8K offers four times the number of pixels of a 4K UHD screen and 16 times that of a full HD screen.
KT said it is the first company worldwide to release an 8K IPTV.
The company also said it plans to upgrade its AI agent in cooperation with Microsoft to feature more advanced AI technologies in its IPTV products.
Earlier this year, KT signed a five-year partnership with Microsoft to join hands to advance AI technologies.
