SEOUL, June 12 (Korea Bizwire) — LG Chem Ltd., a major South Korean chemicals firm, said Sunday it has signed an agreement with cosmetics company Cosmax Co. to enhance collaboration in developing and marketing eco-friendly cosmetics containers.
Cosmax is an original design manufacturer (ODM) with a customer base of some 1,000 global cosmetics companies including L’Oreal.
LG Chem intends to propose a range of eco-friendly materials, such as recyclable high-value-added synthetic resin, to Cosmax.
The company aims to foster collaboration throughout the entire process, from development to marketing of cosmetic containers.
Specifically, the chemical giant will supply differentiated eco-friendly materials with advanced technological capabilities.
These materials include transparent products that prioritize aesthetics and anti-bacterial products that prioritize safety and health.
Moreover, LG Chem plans to expand its product offerings to include materials featuring thermal anaerobic conversion oil and bio ingredients.
Given the cosmetics industry’s rapid product replacement cycle and significant plastic and waste generation, transitioning to eco-friendly materials is essential.
