SEOUL, Jan. 30 (Korea Bizwire) —  LG Electronics has received official certification for Google Cast on its hotel TVs, enabling guests to seamlessly stream content from online video platforms without additional logins or network configurations.

Google Cast, a wireless content-sharing technology developed by Google, allows users to transmit media between devices effortlessly. LG Electronics announced on January 30, 2025, that it obtained official certification for Google Cast on hotel TVs earlier this month, marking a significant step in expanding smart entertainment solutions for the hospitality industry.

Unlike traditional casting methods, LG’s Google Cast-enabled hotel TVs allow guests to connect simply by scanning a QR code, eliminating the need to be on the same Wi-Fi network.

Users are automatically logged into their OTT apps, maintaining the connection throughout their stay. Upon checkout, all personal data and connection history are automatically erased, ensuring privacy and security. Additionally, separate room networks minimize the risk of privacy breaches and data leaks.

With this certification, LG becomes the first company globally to offer both Apple’s AirPlay and Google Cast on hotel TVs, providing greater flexibility and convenience for travelers.

LG Electronics will showcase this new technology at ISE 2025, a commercial display exhibition held in Barcelona from February 4 to 7, 2025. The company plans to recreate a hotel environment at its exhibition space, demonstrating Google Cast-enabled hotel TVs along with other hospitality solutions aimed at enhancing guest experiences.

LG continues to expand its footprint in the hospitality sector by integrating advanced TV solutions, software platforms, and digital signage for hotels and resorts worldwide.
