SEOUL, Feb. 29 (Korea Bizwire) – LG Health & Household has unveiled findings from a comprehensive study indicating that lips become thinner and lose their red hue as individuals age.

The results of the study were published in the January issue of the international journal Skin Research and Technology.

The study was conducted by the R&I Center at LG Health & Household, which secured high-resolution images of the lips of 1,000 Korean women between the ages of 20 and 69.

Advanced facial feature extraction and pattern recognition technologies were employed to analyze changes in lip shape, wrinkles, and tone with age.

The findings revealed that lips tend to become thinner and flatter over time, accompanied by an increase in both horizontal and vertical wrinkles on the lip surface.

The study also noted a reduction in the vibrant red and yellow tones, leading to a less lively appearance.

Interestingly, the research observed a shift in the pattern of lip wrinkles as individuals age, moving from predominantly vertical lines to a more lattice-like pattern with a mix of horizontal and vertical wrinkles.

In response to these insights, LG Health & Household applied the research outcomes to the development of its next-generation lip care product, Lipselin.

This product addresses the five primary concerns associated with lip aging: wrinkles, flakiness, gloss, elasticity, and moisture. It incorporates the Lipselin Penta Turnover Recovery Complex formula, designed to effectively manage these aging signs.

Kang Nae-gyu, CTO of LG Health & Household, emphasized the company’s commitment to leveraging its research findings for the development of specialized anti-aging solutions.

He highlighted the company’s efforts in building an exclusive archive of skin data from 57,000 individuals, including Koreans and other East Asians, over the past six years.

This endeavor underlines LG Health & Household’s dedication to offering differentiated value to customers through its expertly crafted products.
