SEOUL, Dec. 26 (Korea Bizwire) — Experts in the United States and Japan have picked LG Display’s organic light emitting diode (OLED) TV panel as the best product, industry sources said Monday, citing global market reports.
In a recent report released by U.S. specialist display website DisplayMate, LG OLED TV was selected as a product that is unrivaled by competitors in terms of definition, color balance and contrast between light and shade.
HiVi, one of most powerful HiFi magazines in Japan, said OLED panels are a perfect fit for a high-definition TV, introducing LG Display’s success story of developing large OLED panels and their mass production in its latest OLED white paper.
LG Display is one of the world’s largest manufacturers and suppliers of thin-film transistor liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD) panels, OLEDs and flexible displays.
LG Display began producing panels for OLED TVs in 2013 and has supplied the products to 13 companies, including its affiliate LG Electronics Co. It plans to increase the production volumes to 2.5 million units next year to meet growing demand, up from an estimated 1.8 million units for this year.
