SEOUL, Feb. 27 (Korea Bizwire) — LG Electronics Inc. announced that it will open up free laundromats and mobile service centers in the parts of Turkey recently devastated by a series of earthquakes.
The company has set up some 120 washing machines and dryers at eight temporary shelters in Mersin and Tarsus.
LG will deploy a full-time service engineer at the laundromats, to help earthquake victims clean their clothes.
In the five Turkish cities hurt the most by the earthquake, the company will run mobile service centers.
A mobile service vehicle will tour the five cities every day, collecting broken home appliances to take them to the nearest service center. The repaired items will be delivered to the customer.
LG’s labor union will spend from its union social responsibility (USR) fund to send supplies that are essential in rebuilding schools and other basic infrastructure.
