Tel Aviv, Israel, Nov. 4 (Korea Bizwire) – LifeBEAM, a developer of bio-sensing technology, today introduced the LifeBEAM Hat and LifeBEAM Visor, Bluetooth® 4.0 / ANT+™ headwear that transmit heart rate, calorie consumption and cadence measurements to mobile fitness apps and smart devices. Sold with a limited edition carbon carrying case, the LifeBEAM Hat and Visor are now available for pre-order online and will be carried by sports retailers in more than 30 countries.

The LifeBEAM Hat and Visor allow athletes to continuously measure heart rate, calorie consumption and steps and then transmit the data to any device with Bluetooth or ANT+ connectivity. They allow runners, CrossFitters, triathletes, tennis players, baseball players and other athletes to collect and use this biometric data during training and competition. Like the LifeBEAM Helmet, the company’s consumer product for cyclists, the hat and visor rely on bio-sensing technology that is used by fighter pilots, astronauts and special forces units.

While the LifeBEAM Hat is designed for both male and female athletes, the LifeBEAM Visor is designed specifically for women. Because the hat and visor collect biometric data from the user’s forehead, they allow athletes to ditch the heart monitor chest straps which women, in particular, often find uncomfortable and unreliable.

“Our goal is to give athletes control over their training regimen and data,” said Omri Yoffe, CEO of LifeBEAM. “The LifeBEAM Hat and Visor are motion resistant, waterproof, washable and tested by the world’s most demanding users for any movements, intensity levels and weather conditions you can find. We want athletes to use these everywhere and send their measurements to any device or app. This is about providing choice and knowledge so people can get the most out of training.”

The LifeBEAM Hat and Visor were tested with professional athletes, triathletes and iron man teams in the London Marathon 2014, Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc 2014, the 100-mile Berlin Wall Race, Ironman Cozumel and the New York City Marathon

An average athlete can use the LifeBEAM Hat or Visor three or four times per week for an entire month before recharging. They both come with a micro-USB charger that can be plugged into a wall socket or computer. The hat is available in white or black, and the visor is available in one white and pink design. Both can be adjusted to fit all head sizes. The included carbon carrying cases are modeled on the cases that fighter pilots use to transport and protect their helmets.

Due to the high demand of requests already from distributors, the LifeBEAM Hat and Visor are now available for pre-order at www.life-beam.com, Amazon and eBay. They will launch in stores in December 2014. Prominent distributers include QBP USA, Madison UK and Bikesportz Australia.
