CHEONJU, April 1 (Korea Bizwire) – A bull running loose along a highway in central South Korea stopped traffic on Friday before being captured by police officers, police said.
Around 7:07 a.m., the 7-month-old bull jumped over a guardrail on southbound lanes of the Jungbu Highway in Ochang, a town in the central province of North Chungcheong, after escaping from a shed nearby, and ran in the opposite direction of traffic.
The incident prompted startled drivers in the lanes to halt their vehicles, making the region’s traffic stop for an hour, but no casualties or vehicle damages were reported.’
After a report of the bull running free, police officers were able to corner the animal by mobilizing four patrol cars, and rescuers caught it in a snare.
Police, who believe the animal successfully jumped over the relatively low guardrail, are looking into how the bull broke out of the shed 50 meters away from the highway.
