SEOUL, Feb. 9 (Korea Bizwire) — Lotte Mart presented Brussels sprouts, often called mini-cabbages or baby cabbages, on February 8 at its Haengdang Station Branch. Brussels sprouts, which are as small as coins, are a cultivar of cabbages. They contain high levels of vitamin C, potassium and iron. They also contain sulforaphane, known for its antioxidant properties and potential anticancer properties.
Brussels sprouts have rarely been spotted at supermarkets in Korea so far, and non-Koreans who were familiar with this cute vegetable usually had to look for them at foreign-food supermarkets in Korea. Lotte Mart is now offering Brussels sprouts imported from Belgium at a price of 3,000 won (US$ 2.7) for 180 grams.
