SEOUL, Feb. 19 (Korea Bizwire) — Spiking demand for masks following the coronavirus outbreak is prompting the government to ensure a stable supply, but prices of masks on online shopping malls have continued to increase over the past two weeks.
Consumers Korea reported last Friday that in a study of 254 masks available at five online shopping malls, prices had increased by up to 27.2 percent over the past two weeks.
The data showed that it would cost 96,320 won (US$81) each week or 380,000 won each month for a single household comprised of two adults and two children to wear new masks (KF94) every day.
