SEJONG, April 26 (Korea Bizwire) — Mercedes-Benz Korea, the local importer of the luxury German car brand, is recalling nearly 2,800 vehicles sold here because of an oil leak that may lead to a fire, the transportation ministry said Sunday.
Due to a defective part in 10 vehicle models, including the E220, engine oil may leak, increasing the risk of a fire, according to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
The recall affects 1,572 cars produced between Oct. 1, 2014, and Feb. 12, 2015. They include 310 units of the C220 BlueTEC and 284 units of the E250 BlueTEC 4Matic.
The company is also recalling 1,187 units of the C200 passenger car produced between Dec. 16, 2013, and Oct. 23, 2014, because of a defective part in the fuel supply system that may cause the engine to stop.
Free repair services will be available from this week at any service center of Mercedes-Benz Korea.
