MMCA to Launch Streaming Platform for Video Art

SEOUL, Aug. 25 (Korea Bizwire)The National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA) announced Tuesday that it has set up an exclusive streaming platform for video art in collaboration with four galleries in Asia.

‘Watch and Chill’ is a subscription-based online streaming platform for 22 video art pieces provided by the MMCA, Hong Kong M+, MAIIAM in Thailand and MCAD in the Philippines.

The platform releases new video artwork every week, notifying subscribers via email.

In conjunction with the release of the online platform, the MMCA will host a showcase exhibition titled ‘Watch and Chill’ at MMCA’s Seoul branch until Oct. 24.

The exhibition will continue at MCAD in the Philippines, MAIIAM in Thailand and M+ in Hong Kong following the end of the Seoul exhibition.

The MMCA will also open up the MMCA VR channel where Korean artworks are introduced with a three-minute English narration on a VR platform.
