CHUNCHEON, Jan. 30 (Korea Bizwire) — Nami Island, Chuncheon’s most representative tourist destination, has introduced a new translation service for foreigners.
Nami Island, Inc., in partnership with Papago, the artificial intelligence-based translation service from internet giant Naver Corp., has begun to offer translation services for foreign tourists.
Each year, more than 1 million tourists from over 120 countries visit Nami Island.
Foreign tourists can now better access a variety of services on Nami Island with the help of the translation service.
Users can download the app on their smartphones, and download ‘Nami Island Conversations’ from the menu in the app, which will permit searching for various terms and expressions useful for touring Nami Island.
Nami Island has released information leaflets in eight languages (Korean, English, Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Malay-Indonesian, Vietnamese, and Burmese) for foreign tourists.
In addition, there are signs and maps in a variety of languages installed across the island.
“We expect that the new translation service will increase convenience and satisfaction for foreign tourists,” said Jeon Myeong-jun, CEO of Nami Island, Inc.
