SEOUL, Oct. 7 (Korea Bizwire) — Naver has rolled out artificial intelligence–powered summaries to its location search service, extending the use of its AI briefing tool beyond news and finance into daily life navigation.

According to the tech giant on Tuesday, the new “Place AI Briefing” provides concise overviews of businesses and venues, compiling key details such as parking, reservations, menu options, and waiting times.

The system draws on owner-submitted information and user reviews to generate automated summaries, allowing users to grasp essential details without scrolling through multiple pages of feedback.

Naver said it selected 200 frequently searched keywords — including “group seating” and “brunch” — to help the AI extract and organize relevant data. Users can also click suggested follow-up questions within the interface to trigger automatic new searches.

For example, selecting “Does this place serve brunch?” redirects to brunch-related results, each enhanced with AI-generated summaries.

The upgrade comes as more users move beyond basic searches, seeking integrated information that combines views, services, and user experiences.

Naver has also enhanced its financial search features, introducing an expanded interface for exchange-traded funds (ETFs). The new display allows users to view dividends, returns, and fees at a glance, while AI briefings summarize popular and high-performing ETFs.

For deeper analysis, users can connect to Naver Pay Securities to view detailed portfolios, dividend histories, and fund inflows.

The updates reflect Naver’s broader strategy to integrate AI into every layer of its platform — from restaurant discovery to investment research — aiming to provide what it calls “smarter, faster, and more intuitive search experiences.”
