SEOUL, Nov. 17 (Korea Bizwire) — LG Uplus Corp., a major South Korean mobile carrier, recently introduced a next-generation smart traffic information system at the Korea-World Chinese Entrepreneurs Business Week 2020 jointly hosted by South Gyeongsang Province, the city of Changwon, and the Korea Chinese Entrepreneurs Association.
Named the Cooperative-Intelligent Transport System (C-ITS), the system offers drivers real-time information on nearby traffic situations and early warnings on sudden stops and falling objects.
LG Uplus shared how C-ITS, synchronized with Changwon’s smart hydrogen buses, informs drivers about changes in traffic situations and traffic lights, as well as weather forecasts and discount events at nearby vendors.
At the exhibition, the company showed off a glass display system that uses the front window of the bus as a primary screen, allowing use of the system without having to install a separate display.
Glass displays are one of many mobility technologies developed jointly by LG Uplus and Anyractive, a developer of projection technology for automobiles.
