SEOUL, Nov. 8 (Korea Bizwire) — The Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency yesterday announced the winning finalists of the 11th Animal Love Photography Contest aimed at raising awareness of animal protection and welfare.
A total of 379 photo entries were submitted to contest officials under the theme “One Welfare” depicting scenes where animals and humans share their happiness.
The top prize went to Kim Man-jin, whose photograph “First Step” was of a piglet taking its first steps as its mother watched over. Kim will be given a monetary prize of 2 million won (US$ 1,790).

The second-place prize will be going to Kim Ji-won, who will receive 1 million won in prize money for a photograph titled “Happiness with a Cube of Ice.” The photo shows Kim’s pet dog biting into a cube of ice.
The Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency will be using the photographs when creating animal welfare-related content and for promotional materials for events.
