SEOUL, Nov. 3 (Korea Bizwire) — Pizza Hut Korea said Wednesday it has joined hands with food delivery app Yogiyo to launch a menu for singles, as well as to strengthen its takeout service.
To this end, the company will launch a brand devoted to single people solely through the delivery app.
This move is a part of its strategy to strengthen delivery service targeting the young generation and single-person households.
The primary factor behind the decision to strengthen delivery service is last year’s sluggish financial performance.
Pizza Hut Korea recorded revenue of 96.5 billion won (US$67.6 million) last year, down 19 percent year on year.
This result is in stark contrast to fried chicken franchises, which achieved record-breaking results thanks to special delivery demand resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.
