POHANG, March 17 (Korea Bizwire) — The city of Pohang in North Gyeongsang Province has implemented a drive-through system to sell seafood in a bid to prevent further spread of the coronavirus.
The city office and the Pohang Fish Farming Association sold lunch boxes that come with raw fish filets on the roadside of Guryongpo Beach on Sunday.
To prevent physical contact and the spread of the coronavirus, a drive-through system was implemented to allow residents to buy food without having to leave their cars.
This special seafood market was held to support fish farmers struggling with plunging consumption of raw fish filets.
All of the 500 lunch boxes, each capable of feeding three or four people and costing 20,000 won (US$16.13), were sold out on the same day.
