POHANG, April 20 (Korea Bizwire) — POSCO Group Chairman, Choi Jeong-woo, visited the home of Kim Hwan, a Posco employee, and his wife, who were the first couple in Korea to successfully deliver quadruplets through natural childbirth last August. Choi visited the couple’s home last Saturday to give support and delivered a wagon stroller and pocket money to the quadruplets. He also encouraged the eldest twin who underwent intestinal surgery.
POSCO provides various supports to its employees, including 20 million won in maternity benefits, 2 million won worth of childcare products, and childcare services until the quadruplets reach their first birthday. In September last year, the company gifted Kim’s family a nine-seater van. The POSCO Group is among the most active Korean conglomerates in addressing the issue of declining birth rates. The odds of conceiving quadruplets are extremely rare, with a 1 in 1 million chance.
